Covington, KY (May 13, 2026) – The Northern Kentucky Port Authority is growing its team to three as it adds Kevin Veeley as project manager.

Veeley will advance the Northern Kentucky Port Authority’s role as a real estate and development tool for the Northern Kentucky region, manage existing and future projects of the NKY Port Authority and support the evaluation of sites and buildings for commercial development/redevelopment.

He will also maintain important relationships with partner organizations, local municipalities, and commercial real estate professionals and meet regularly with project partners, including contractors, consultants, tenants and funders.

The NKY Port Authority was activated as a real estate and development tool as part of BE NKY Growth Partnership’s 2022 Build + Elevate NKY Investor Campaign.

Over the past four years, the NKY Port Authority has already brought to life two major projects: the OneNKY Center, home to 10 Northern Kentucky growth organizations and a lab run by LifeSciKY, and SparkHaus, Northern Kentucky’s new home for entrepreneurship. Both buildings celebrated grand openings in 2025.

The NKY Port Authority also entered into a purchase agreement for the former C&O Roundhouse Site at the corner of Madison Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and the Commonwealth Center for Biomedical Excellence in downtown Covington will house the Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine’s Northern Kentucky campus.

“I am thrilled that the NKY Port Authority’s success since its activation in 2022 has led to our team’s growth,” said NKY Port Authority Executive Director Christine Russell. “As we continue to take on community-transforming work, the addition of Kevin to our team will enable us to continue delivering high-caliber project results for the Northern Kentucky region.”

Veeley most recently worked as Lead Assistant Golf Course Superintendent for The Carmargo Club in Indian Hill. He managed operations of the club’s grounds and facilities and managed planning, projects and vendor relationships for club improvement. He is an alumnus of Eastern Kentucky University’s Sport Management program.
